Nimble Fingers Award

The aim of the Nimble Fingers Award is to encourage excellence in lacemaking by young people in Australia.

History of the Award

The Nimble Fingers Award began in 1996 when it was recognised that there was a growing need to acknowledge and encourage young lacemakers in Australia. It was decided to offer an award every year at the AGM. It was open to any lacemaker under the age of 16. In 2001 the age limit was increased to 18. In 2002 two categories were created to encourage young lacemakers of differing experience levels to enter.
