Recent and upcoming Events

The City Exhibition, "Lace colours of the rainbow", was held on 22nd and 23rd May 2010 at the Fullarton Park Community Centre.

The exhibition defies adequate description. To have the pleasure of viewing the displays in the serenity of the morning and appreciate the space and the impact after the hectic setting up session the night before, and before the happy throng invaded was breathtaking. From the ‘pot of gold’ through the varying hues each group (incorporating extra pieces from other members) imparted their own statement of colour. This was complimented by our Lace Guild special lace collection including donated laces and our entries of Medusa, Seven and Rainforest. The group projects and individual entrants to the competition of "SOMETHING TO ADORN A WALL" continued the theme. Further colour in our own members’ collections, not necessarily lace related, also created interest.

The glitter and sparkle from our traders' wares provided our visitors with an exciting array to feast on. We didn’t need to be tempted - we came prepared to indulge. Who could resist a ticket in our raffle for our beautiful lace adorned wall hanging?

Meeting up with recently made lace friends and greeting loyal companions from the previous years who traveled from near: Hackham Salisbury, Strathalbyn, Southern, Victor Harbor; and from afar: Renmark, Western Australia, Victoria, Queensland and New South Wales, to name but a few, and sharing sumptuous slices and delicious soup and damper added to the ambience.
