The Australian Lace Guild provides correspondence courses in needlelace and bobbin laces to both members of the Guild and non-members.

Needlelace

Needlelace is lace formed with needle and thread using detached buttonhole stitch and variations of this stitch. The correspondence course consists of 12 lessons to be completed within a year.

Bobbin lace courses

Torchon lace: the correspondence course is self paced and is designed for the real beginner in lace.

Point ground lace: the correspondence course consists of 12 lessons and covers the requirements for Stage 1 proficiency. Applicants should be able to do basic Torchon lace at approximately Stage 1 proficiency level before undertaking this course.
